Using Multimedia Resources in Teaching.


    
The modern-day education has always evolved with the mass media and as a result, twenty-first-century teachers got the opportunity to engage with technology like they never did earlier. Multimedia resources such as podcasts, video clips, and blogs pave the way for teachers to access different learning styles to address the learning needs of every student. As a huge gateway for the teaching process, multimedia resources provide a variety of offers such as flexibility to present ideas and facts, access for individual learning, a place for community building and a broader view of the world.

When integrating multimedia resources in teaching, it is important to use appropriate child-friendly content and segments that are relevant to the lesson. While using multimedia during the lesson, checking for students’ comprehension, monitoring each student closely, clarifying important facts of the lesson and making a space for class discussions to make connections to the particular and other lessons helps teachers to make an engaging process. After finishing the lesson, teachers can provide opportunities for students to answer questions related to the lesson shown by the multimedia resource, interactive activities and exercises which allow them to apply, demonstrate and reinforce the things they have learned during the lesson.     

According to the first century, there are multiple purposes of using multimedia resources in teaching. Apart from helping students visualize difficult concepts easily, making language in culture come alive and enhancing accessibility through the use of powerful multimedia tools, these resources are advantageous to enhance the motivation to teach and engage with students during the lesson, address different learning styles in the classroom to make subjects more practical and create a student-centered teaching process. As for the recommendations for using multimedia in teaching, the teachers need to go beyond the traditional multimedia resources and focus on using more resources to make the theoretical situation in real life.  

 

This article was created after reading some books and online sources to collect ideas. As the preliminary steps, I noted key points of the sources, planned the structure of the article, wrote the draft and shaped them for the final version of the article. The final version of the article displays careful thinking and simple expression.
